A joint research study by two researchers from Koya University, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Oxford, the University of Buckingham in the UK, and the University of Seville in Spain, secured the second rank among 42,000 international studies.

On Saturday, October 16, 2024, during the 7th Symposium for Outstanding Papers organized by the Kesaine Organization in partnership with Salahaddin University and Tishk International University in Erbil, the joint research by Dr. Aras Tofiq Asaad and Mr. Dashti Ahmed was awarded the second-best research among 42,000 international submissions.

The research, titled "A Survey of Vectorization Methods in Topological Data Analysis," was published in the "IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence" journal. This internationally renowned journal in computer science and applied mathematics boasts an impact factor exceeding 20.

Both researchers are Research Fellows at the Research and Development Centers of Koya University.
