*KOYA, Kurdistan Region* — Koya University President Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hasib Sadiq chaired a meeting Monday to advance the institution's community outreach strategic pillar, emphasizing the university's role in addressing local societal needs.
The June 23 meeting brought together key administrators and faculty members responsible for implementing the "Community Outreach" component of the university's 2023-2027 strategic plan. The session was held at the university's main administration building. Attendees included committee chair Prof. Dr. Galawezh Bakr Bapir, who also serves as Acting Dean of Engineering, Acting Dean of Medicine Dr. Dawan Jamal, and Strategic Plan Registration Committee Head Prof. Dr. Luqman Waso.
## New Institutional Motto Adopted
The university has adopted "A University for a Stronger Society" as its new motto, reflecting its commitment to community engagement. "Expectations from us as a university and the highest academic and educational institution are significant, and we must rise to meet those expectations," Sadiq said. "At Koya University, we view community outreach and integration with local and domestic society as paramount priorities."
## Strategic Approach to Community Outreach
Sadiq outlined a targeted approach to community engagement, proposing that the implementation committee divide local communities into specific sectors to deliver services tailored to each area's particular needs. The president called for detailed implementation work with measurable impact on university activities, emphasizing that successful execution of the Community Outreach pillar has become a top institutional priority.

Committee chair Bapir thanked the university president for the strategic plan initiative and pledged that the committee would "make every effort" to implement the community outreach pillar effectively.
