On April 3, 2023, Koya University's President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, put on a meeting with the journal's editors. The editorial board members of the journal of Koya University for Humanities and Social Sciences included Vice president for Scientific & Postgraduate affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Haidar Lahskri Khidr (Chairman of the Editorial Board), Prof. Dr. Jabbar Ahmad Abdul-Rahman (Section Editor), Asst. Prof. Dr. Nali Jawad Hamad (Section Editor), Asst. Prof. Dr. Hamid Badri Abdul-Salam (Section Editor), Dr. Rebwar Jabbar Sheikha (Section Editor) and Asst. Lect. Mohammed Karim Seyidgul (Director of the Journal). 

The Koya University’s Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences now has 13 international indexes and was the first publication in the Kurdistan Region to earn the DOAJ Index.
