Over three days, the Bahar Center for English at Koya University supervised the English placement tests that were conducted online.
On Monday, November 18, 2024, the English placement tests, supervised by the Bahar Center for English Language at Koya University, concluded with the participation of 210 students across all four English learning levels.
In a statement to Koya University’s media, the Director of the Bahar Center for English Language, Dr. Ahmed Abdulaziz Mohammed, highlighted that this was the first time these international tests were conducted at Koya University. He noted that the tests followed the completion of online English courses across all four levels, organized and overseen by the Bahar Center.
Dr. Ahmed also stated that this year, Koya University requested the tests to be conducted within the university’s laboratories. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Imperial English Academy, helped reduce the burden on students.
He further clarified that a total of 210 students participated in the tests, distributed as follows: 7 students in the Advanced level, 57 in the Intermediate level, 115 in the Elementary level, and 31 in the Beginner level.
According to a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Imperial English Academy in the UK, the English placement tests, training courses, and final-level tests are conducted online under the supervision of both parties.
