The Research Center with Department of Architechtural Engineering at Koya University are holding a national workshop on "Sustainable Building Strategies". The aim of this workshop is to present the approach to explore passive and active strategies to increase thermal comfort and indoor air quality while minimizing energy consumption during the design or the renovation of the existing buildings. All KOU academic staff are invited to attend this national workshop.

Professor Dr. Salah I. Yahya, working in the Department of Software Engineering at Koya University, published a research paper in the Renewable Energy journal that issued by ScienceDirect and indexed by the Calrivate Analytics (Wos: IF = 8.001, Q1), This research work is a collaboration with a researcher from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Kermanshah University of Technology, Kermanshah, Iran. The research article is about the Estimation of kinematic viscosity of biodiesel-diesel blends: Comparison among accuracy of intelligent and empirical paradigms.

Today, 26 November 2021, Prof. Salah I. Yahya, the director  of the Quality Assurance and Curriculum Development at Koya University had an important online meeting with Prof. Silvia Castellaro, the professor at the department of Physics and the member of the Quality Assurance Committee at the University of Bologna. The meeting was about the Bologna Proccess that runing at the University of Bologna and the Bologna Process proposal of Koya University. The meeting discussed the model of Koya University on how to implement the Bologna Proccess and make a smooth transtion from the current study system.

Today, 23rd November 2021, Koya University held a national Symposium entitled "Towards Ensuring a Quality Learning and Teaching". The symposium was held in the auditorium of Koya University, where the Prdesident of KOU, the Vice Presidents, Deans and all academic staff atended this symposium. The symposium was started by a speech from the V.P. Dr. Haidar lashkry, then folowed by a presentation for 60 min by Pro. Salah I. Yahya, the Director of QA&CD. Finally a speech by the President of KOU, Prof. Wali Hamad, concluded the Symposium.

Today, 16th November 2021, an important online meeting was organized and held by the Vice Precident Dr. Haidar Lashkry and the Director of QA, Prof. Dr. Salah I. Yahya. The online meeting was about implementation of Bologna Proccess and the role of Head of Departments at Koya University to prepare the soft anf hard infrastruction for the best implemantation in the next academic year. 

Koya University is inviting all academics, researchers, professionals and who may concern to attend  and participate the international symposium that will be held in collaboration with different national and international bodies. The international symposium will be held at Koya University on 5th December 2021. The symposium is about the "Combating Desertification and Drought in Iraq via Promoting Sustainable Industrial Startups" and will be participated by famous national and international companies and brands.

Koya University partcipates by its two delgates, V.P. Dr. Haidar Lashkry and Prof. Dr. Salah I. Yahya, the international hybrid conference on "Structural Reforms in Iraqi Higher Education: Quality Assurance & Implementation of Bologna Process" that is held in Baghdad, Babylon Rotana Hotel, on 9th -10th November 2021. The Conference is organized by the Dutch NGO SPARK in collaboration with Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Federal Iraq and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in KR-I, Apparatus of Supervision and Quality Assurance. The conference is sponsored by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. D.G. Dr. Mohammed Hussain, the Head of the Apparatus of Supervision and Quality Assurance, is representing the Ministry of Higher Education - Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Today, 8th November 2021, the Indian Consul & Head of Chancery at the Indian Conulate in Erbil, Mr. M.V. Sunder, had a vist to Koya University. His Excellensay Mr. M.V. Sunder had a meeting with the President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Wali Hamad and with the Vice Presidents Dr. Haidar Lashkry and Dr. Rostam Salam Aziz. A meeting with Faculties' Deans was also held. Mr. M.V. Sunder had a tour inside the campus of Koya University. Also, he had a tour inside Koya City, the Qushla region.

Koya Universities participated a series of seminars that held by the China Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) - the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO). Prof. Salah I. Yahya and Dr. Abdulbasit Kamel were represented KOU and IRAQ in this series of seminars, among 132 participants from more than 20 countries in the globe. The series of seminars consisted of 12 intenseve sessions for 3 hrs per each, for about 14 days, 14 Oct. 2021 - 27th Oct. 2021. Prof. Salah I. Yahya, has been selected to address the closing cermony, today 27th Oct. 2021, by a speech.

Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences has been accepted for inclusion in the Arabic Citation Index (ARIC). The Arabic Citation Index is created in partnership with the Egyptian government, with the goal of covering content from the Arab-speaking world.
