Koya University is located in the city of Koya (Koysinjaq), which is a 1.0 hr drive to the East of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil (Arbil, Hewlér) in Kurdistan Region of F.R. Iraq. Koya University has launched a Bologna Process training course.
On October 16, 2022, KOU organized a Bologna Process teacher course which was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq Zangana, University president, the University Council, and 77 teachers.
The course was opened with Dr.. Mohammed's speech in which he stressed on the importance of implementing the Bologna Process and the importance of training.

Mr. Ahmed Abdulsalam Maaroof, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Koya University and a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the same Faculty in Koya University has participated in the industrial combustion symposium organized by American Flame Research Committee (AFRC).
A lecturer at Koya University participated in a special program of the US State Department.
Ahmad Taifor Azeez, Lecture at Department of of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, FacuLty of Engineering at Koya University, participated in the programz “Country FulBright". The program is a special project of the United States and is supported by the State Department and aims to exchange cultures between different countries and to introduce people outside the United States to the education system in US universities.
The Third course of pedagogy has ended at the Pedagogical Center of Koya University.
On Sunday, October 9, 2022, with the participation of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq Zangana, President of Koya University and Asst. On Sunday, September 25, 2022, Koya University and the American-based educational organization Pinnacle Teaching Solutions signed a partnership agreement at a special singing ceremony held at Koya University. The agreement was signed by Koya University President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Zangana and The Pinnacle Teaching Solutions Country Director for Iraq Mr. Tim Knoespel.

Professor Dr. Salah I. Yahya, working in the Department of Software Engineering at Koya University, published a research paper in the Symmetry journal that published by MDPI and indexed by the Clarivate Analytics (Wos: IF = 3.940, Q2), This research work is a collaboration with researchers from Islamic Azad University, Al-Esraa University College and Vietnamese-German University. The research article is about design and fabrication of a Filtering Power Divider with Simple Symmetric Structure.
