Reaction development and characterization by different instrumental techniques Workshop was held on 13th and 14^th of April 2022 in Science and Health Research Center at Koya University in the presence of the president of the University ‘Prof. Dr. Wali Hamad’ and the Dean of the FSCH ‘Asst. Prof. Dr. Taha Jalal Omar’ with his vice dean ‘Mr. Hawkar Jaafar Hamad Ameen’, in which certificates of appreciation were distributed to all the five presenters who performed excellency in their presentation.

The Director of Public Relations at KOU, Dr. Hawkar Bapeer  participated the XI International Staff Week (ISW) during the perid 25th-29th April 2022. This ISW was organized by University of Almeria in Spain under Erasmus+ Program. The event took five days with the presence of 49 academics from 49 different academic foundations. During this event, Dr. Hawkar Bapeer introduced KOU and created a bridge with other 18 international Universities by participating "The Networking Session/Promoting Your University" activity on the second day of the ISW.

Deep eutectic solvents workshop was held on 17^th of April 2022 in Science and Health Research Center at Koya University in the presence of the Dean of the FSCH ‘Asst. Prof. Dr. Taha Jalal Omar’ and the vice dean ‘Mr. Hawkar Jaafar Hamad Ameen’ focused on the use of Deep eutectic solvents (DESs).

As part of its Continuous Improvement Programme, the Department of Clinical Psychology at Koya University held a training course entitled “Bloom Taxonomy, Types of Questions and Tests” from 29^th of March to 5^th of April, 2022, which targeted the academic staff of Faculty of Science and Health.

The Department of Software Engineering at Koya University will organise an international workshop entitled "First International Workshop on Smart Computing Applications IWSC" on the 18th of May 2022, which will be held in a hybrid environment. The Directorate of Public Relations at Koya University announces a New Launched Edition (2020-2022) of the Erasmus+ Program that has two programs (STT and STA) run by the Tecnico Lisboa - Portugal through Erasmus Plus 2020-2022:

1. STA PROGRAM ’staff mobility for a teaching assignment'. Here, the applicants should have at least M.SC. or Ph.D. degree, fluent English speaking skills, and have a specialty in the following fields; Geotechnics, Geoscience, and Mining Engineering.
2. STT PROGRAM ’staff mobility for training', here, the applicants should have at least a Ph.D. degree, fluent English speaking skills, and they must be familiar with the work done in international relations.

SCIMAGO Institution Ranking announned the SCIMAGO University Ranking Edition-2022. For the first time, Koya University is listed in this important ranking. Only (40) Iraqi Universities have been listed in this ranking. Koya University has been ranked (9) among the Public IKR Universities, (25) among the Iraqi universities and (745) among the worldwide Universities. The best Quartile of Koya University according to SCIMAGO University Ranking is Q2.

On March 30, 2022, The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Iraq celebrated the 10 Years Anniversary of its establishment in Erbil. The event was attended by a number of guests from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, KRG and the academic institutions in the region. The Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana, attended this celebration and representing Koya University.

Vaccines, which are mostly biological products, save millions of lives each year, as they are designed to prevent disease, rather than treat it by priming a person’s immune system to recognize a specific disease-causing bacteria, virus or other pathogens.  Therefore, we need to know what exactly is a vaccine and what goes into making one? And how do we know whether they are safe, or not? In this workshop, which was held by the department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Health, at Koya university on the 3^rd of March, 2022, every aspect of vaccines and why they are important for our health including their advantages and disadvantages were explained.
