KOU Participates the Training Course of the Iraqi Institute for the Conservation of Antiquities and Heritage

A training course entitled "Causes of Decay and Preservation of Building Architectural Heritage" has been held during the period Sept. 15 – Oct. 20, 2019 by the Iraqi Institute for the Conservation of  Antiquities and Heritage in collaboration with the Czech National Heritage Institute and GEMA ART International s.r.o in Erbil with 14 participants including two teachers from the department of Architectural Engineering (DARE) at Koya University, who were nominated by the Czech trainers:

Professor Salah I. Yahya from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Koya University participated in the International Conference on Engineering, Science, and Industrial Applications (ICESI 2019) that was held in Tokyo University of Science, Tokyo, Japan, during the period August 22-24, 2019. Prof. Yahya chaired a session on August 24, 2019 as well as presented his paper entitled: Wide Stopband Microstrip Diplexer Using a Novel Configuration for Frequency Division Duplex and GSM-4G Applications. The paper will be available soon in the Digital Library of IEEE Xplore that indexed by SCOPUS. The abstract proceeding of the ICESI 2019 conference is available online (click here)

A KOU Professor Published a Research Article in PIER L

Professor Salah I. Yahya from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Koya University with a research group from Iran and Malaysia published a research article entitled “A Compact Microstrip Triplexer with a Novel Structure Using Patch and Spiral Cells for Wireless Communication Applications” in the Progress In Electromagnetics Research Letters (PIER L).

The paper presents a novel design of a compact size microstrip triplexer that can be used in wireless communication.

The paperwork is funded by the Kermanshah University of Technology and supported by Koya University.

A KOU Professor Publishing a Research Article

Professor Salah I. Yahya from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Koya University with a research group from Iran and Malaysia published a research article entitled “Design of a novel wideband microstrip diplexer using artificial neural network” in the Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing Journal. The paper presents a novel design of wideband microstrip diplexer that can be used in wireless communication. The paperwork is funded by the Kermanshah University of Technology and supported by Koya University.

A KOU Teaching Staff Participate the International Syposium (IS-Glasgow 2019) by Presenting a Scientific Paper

Dr. Bestun Shwan, a Lecturer and head of the Department of Geotechnical Engineering (DGEN), Faculty of Engineering at Koya University participated the 7th International Symposium on Deformation Characteristics of Geomaterials (IS-Glasgow 2019) by presenting a scientific paper entitled “The effect of suction on ground surface settlement for a tunnel”. The international symposium was held at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

 

KOU held an Intensive training course for implementing the Bologna Process

On the way to implement Bologna Process at Koya University starting from the Academic year 2019-2020, Koya University held a 12 weeks intensive training course entitled ‘Implementing Bologna Process with Assistance of the Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment’. The training course was supervised and presented by Prof. Dr. Salah I. Yahya. The training course was held during the months March, April, May and June. The first 6 weeks’ sessions were for all Koya University academic teaching staff, whereas, the second 6 weeks’ sessions were for the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

I called last week by the universities of Koya and Baghdad to participate in an international conference on "Arab-Kurdish dialogue" held by the Kurdistan region of Iraq and participated in a group of political and intellectual figures, I was pleased to share with Tunisia this Iraqi, Kurdish, Arab, and Arab effectiveness, Dr Amal Qarmi, a university researcher and a member of the Council.

Koya on the Road of Civilisation

The International Conference held in koya for 3 days. On 1st April at 10 a.m. in Koya university- presidency hall- with attending the president and his assistants, the teaching staff, Koya University students, and a large number of guests from inside Iraq and abroad. With participating of professionals from local and international academics in the fields of archaeology, history, geography, language, and different professions from Kurdistan, Iraq, Czech, Austria, Germany, and Portuguese the conference started.

The initiative of the two universities of Baghdad and Koysenjaq for the Arab-Kurdish dialogue has received considerable attention, especially since it came almost a year and a half after the tense relations between Baghdad and Erbil following the Kurdish referendum (September 25, 2017), especially under the conjunctions and mines contained in the Constitution, including article 140 of the "Transitional Administrative Law", disputed areas, oil issues, the legal centre of Peshmerga, border outlets and others.
