Koya University is located in the city of Koya (Koysinjaq), which is a 1.0 hr drive to the East of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil (Arbil, Hewlér) in Kurdistan Region of F.R. Iraq. It is on the foothills of a beautiful high mountain. Its campus has been carefully laid out to embrace the beautiful mountainous nature.
An entrepreneurial exhibition was held with the participation of several local and international companies as part of the activities to announce the Green University initiative and the first pillar of Koya University's strategic plan, "Student Success and their Preparation for the Labor Market".
The Green University Initiative was announced at Koya University by Deputy Prime Minister of the KRG Mr. Qubad Talabani, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, and Koya University President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hasib Siddiq.
Mr. Qubad Talabani said, "It is a great honor for me to be in Koya University to announce the Green University after 21 years of laying the foundation stone by Comrade Mam Jalal"
